Buttes-Chaumont & Mouzaïa Residential Loop

The park's south edge, then the Mouzaïa villas — cobbled lanes and rose-covered houses the guidebooks miss.

Why this route restores

This is the quiet Paris almost no one walks. Mouzaïa's low houses and hidden gardens mean the sky is bigger than the buildings, and traffic never really arrives. Pair it with the park's edge and you get one of the softest walks in the city — no landmarks, only presence.

Presence notes

Leave Buttes-Chaumont at the Botzaris gate and walk east into the Mouzaïa. The lanes are narrow, cobbled, and lined with two-storey villas — an accidental village inside the 19th. Loop through rue de la Villette and rue du Général-Brunet, then return along rue de Crimée.

Accessibility, honestly

Some steps · accessible alternatives noted on the page

Level cobbled residential lanes. Cobbles are honest — comfortable strollers manage, standard wheelchairs will find it uneven. Very few kerbs to cross. Accessible toilets at Rosa Bonheur (park) at the start/end; residential loop has none.
