The east-shore promenade of Kunming Lake at the Summer Palace — the Long Corridor, willow banks, and Longevity Hill reflected in still water.
Kunming Lake is a 220-hectare imperial lake with the Summer Palace built around it. The east and north shores give continuous water, willow shade, and views of Longevity Hill — one of the great constructed landscapes to walk.
Enter at the east palace gate, walk the Long Corridor west, follow the north lake shore past the marble boat, and finish at the west dam. Level throughout.
