Brandenburger Tor to the Neuer See through Berlin's inner forest — soft paths, mature oaks, and the city held at arm's length.
Tiergarten is a genuine forest at the centre of a capital. Two hundred hectares of oak, beech and lime absorb Berlin's noise; the path network is so dense you never share it for long. It's the city's shared lung and its shared rest.
Enter under the Brandenburg Gate and walk west along Straße des 17. Juni. At Großer Stern, drop into the wooded paths toward Neuer See. Sit by the lake, then loop back along Rousseau-Insel and the Luisen-Insel — Tiergarten's quietest corners.

"Berlin's forest heart — a capital that gave itself a real quiet centre."
Sound stays soft — you'll hear leaves, water and your own breath more than traffic.
Living land holds you the whole way — trees, birdsong, real soil underfoot.
One continuous line — few crossings, easy to find and keep your rhythm.
Water beside you most of the way — a river, canal, lake or sea keeping company.
Old stones and long memory hold the route — architecture, gardens, sacred edges.
Deeply restorative — low effort, soft surface, safe to walk slowly.
Effectively level — no climb to prepare for.
Let the trees do most of the noticing.

Slow down until the count softens. Sit on the next bench for a full minute. Presence is the goal — the map will wait.
