Cape Town's beloved promenade — a 6.4 km flat sea-facing walk from Mouille Point to Bantry Bay.
The Sea Point Promenade is Cape Town's most democratic public space — a flat wide car-free walk along the Atlantic that everyone shares. The southerly winds keep it cool, the sunsets are unmatched, and the pavement is level throughout.
Start at the red-and-white Mouille Point lighthouse, walk south along the promenade past the tidal pools of Sea Point Pavilion, continue past Bantry Bay, and finish at the Rocklands terraces.

"The Atlantic on one side, Signal Hill on the other."
Sound stays soft — you'll hear leaves, water and your own breath more than traffic.
Living land holds you the whole way — trees, birdsong, real soil underfoot.
One continuous line — few crossings, easy to find and keep your rhythm.
Water beside you most of the way — a river, canal, lake or sea keeping company.
Old stones and long memory hold the route — architecture, gardens, sacred edges.
Deeply restorative — low effort, soft surface, safe to walk slowly.
Effectively level — no climb to prepare for.
Let the water hold whatever is heavy.

Slow down until the count softens. Sit on the next bench for a full minute. Presence is the goal — the map will wait.
