Hank Short Village & Dike Loop

A short, easy loop that stays close to the village and quickly reaches the open dike. Perfect when there is little time but the need for quiet air and wide sky is still present.

Why this route restores

Because even a short time in open polder air can reset the nervous system. There is nothing to climb and nothing to plan — only wide sky, soft wind, and the sound of your own steps. Simple, close, and enough.

Presence notes

Start softly on the square near the church and let Kerkstraat carry you out to the Buitendijk. Within minutes the houses fall away and the dike opens: water on one side, polder on the other, horizon everywhere. Turn back along the quiet field edge and the small village footpaths — Raaipad, Reigerspad — between gardens and grass. Almost completely flat, benches on the dike, very little traffic. Less than an hour, and enough.
