Parc Jean-Drapeau Calm Areas

Île Sainte-Hélène's Fort walk and Île Notre-Dame's floral canal loop — the islands' quietest full circuit.

Why this route restores

The islands are Montréal's floating gardens. Once you're past the Biosphere and formula-1 track, the calm areas — Fort Île Sainte-Hélène, the floral canals, the north-shore paths — are wide, quiet, and full of skyline over water. Fifteen minutes from downtown and completely different.

Presence notes

From the Métro exit, walk to the Fort Île Sainte-Hélène overlook, then take the pedestrian bridge to Île Notre-Dame. Walk the floral canal loop anticlockwise, past the Casino gardens, and return via the same bridge with the skyline now framing the whole return.
