The full La Fontaine loop — two artificial lakes, the outdoor theatre lawn, and the mature canopy of the Plateau's beloved park.
Parc La Fontaine is the Plateau's shared park: two lakes, mature elms, a bandshell, and a rhythm the neighbourhood keeps together. Level paths, continuous benches, and small water throughout. The kind of park you can walk daily and never tire of.
Enter at Rachel and Papineau and walk anticlockwise around the lakes. Take the bridge between them, drift through the outdoor theatre lawn, and finish at the west lake's boat rental. The whole loop is level, tree-shaded, and set at the Plateau's own patient pace.

"The Plateau's shared park — two lakes, mature elms, patient neighbourhood rhythm."
Sound stays soft — you'll hear leaves, water and your own breath more than traffic.
Living land holds you the whole way — trees, birdsong, real soil underfoot.
One continuous line — few crossings, easy to find and keep your rhythm.
Water beside you most of the way — a river, canal, lake or sea keeping company.
Old stones and long memory hold the route — architecture, gardens, sacred edges.
Deeply restorative — low effort, soft surface, safe to walk slowly.
Effectively level — no climb to prepare for.
Let this walk be the medicine, not a task.
Restorative · a pace the vagus nerve can rest in
Breathe in for 4 steps, out for 5. Keep the exhale a little longer than the inhale — that is the whole practice.
Slow down until the count softens. Sit on the next bench for a full minute. Presence is the goal — the map will wait.
