Why this route restores

The Presidio is a full national park inside the city. Two thousand mature trees, restored dunes, and paths that move through forest, meadow, and ocean bluff without a single traffic light. It's the closest the city gets to real wilderness.

Presence notes

Start at the Main Post and take the Ecology Trail west into the cypress and pine. Loop past Mountain Lake, climb gently to Inspiration Point for the bay view, and return via the Presidio Officers' Club and the historic parade ground.
