The long walk out along the Kromme Rijn into the old estate woods of Amelisweerd and Rhijnauwen — beech, oak, open meadow and slow water, all the way back.
Distance is part of the medicine here. Long enough for thinking to loosen, flat enough that nothing hurts, and green from the first kilometre to the last — mature woodland and a slow river together do what neither can alone.

How the walk unfolds, and what looks after you while it does.
This is a walk with a direction.
Follow the Kromme Rijn out of the city, past the last houses, until the sound changes and the far bank becomes field.
Enter Nieuw Amelisweerd under high beeches, cross into Oud Amelisweerd past the country house, and turn at the Rhijnauwen meadows.
The return traces the river again from the other side, so the same water accompanies you both ways.
Weekday mornings, or any afternoon in autumn when the beeches turn.

River paths and estate lanes are firm gravel and asphalt; the forest interior is earth and can be muddy after rain. No steps, but tree roots in places. Sturdy strollers manage the main lanes. Tea house at Rhijnauwen with restrooms; benches at intervals along the river.

Breathe in for 4 steps, out for 5. Keep the exhale a little longer than the inhale — that is the whole practice.
Slow down until the count softens. Sit on the next bench for a full minute. Presence is the goal — the map will wait.
